Educational Achievements of Migrants and their Determinants: Part II: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education

Abstract

Using a survey of the literature, this article discusses potential determinants of school success of children with a migrant background. While in the first part (ifo Schnelldienst 9/2013) the pre-school sector was examined, this second part deals with the later stages of education. At first, transnational studies in primary and secondary education are presented. This is followed by an overview of studies in the area of higher education.
