Educational Production in Preschools and Schools - Microeconometric Evidence from Germany

This study was prepared by Martin Schlotter while he was working with the Ifo Institute for Economic Research. It was completed in June 2011 and accepted as a doctoral thesis by the Department of Econcomics at the University of Munich in November 2011. It addresses the effects of different early educational interventions with a focus on the impact of the German preschool on child outcomes. In all chapters, German micro data are used; the employed empirical strategies are based on the attempt to identify causal relationships between the variables and outcomes of interest.
