Inmigración y mercado de trabajo: revisión y evidencia para España

Abstract

La población mundial que reside fuera de su país de nacimiento superó los 300 millones en 2024, según datos de las Naciones Unidas, lo que equivale aproximadamente al 3,7% de la población mundial. En Europa, estas cifras se han duplicado desde 1990, pasando de 51 a 94 millones, y representan ya al 12,6% de la población del continente. En España, el crecimiento de la población extranjera ha sido una de las transformaciones socioeconómicas más notables de las últimas décadas: pasó de 800 mil personas en 1990(alrededor del 2% de la población), a cerca de 9 millon es en 2024, lo que representa el 18,5% del total.
