Compétences externes et innovation: le cas des firmes de l'industrie manufacturière algérienne

Abstract

Le présent article émet une hypothèse sur la contribution des compétences externes à l'émergence de l'activité d'innovation au sein de la firme. La vérification économétrique de cette hypothèse à partir d'un échantillon d'entreprises industrielles algériennes, a permis de mettre en évidence quatre résultats robustes qui demeurent significatifs et stables après ajustement par différents indicateurs. Le premier résultat, original, de cette étude est que le développement de différentes compétences de la firme a été provoqué, non seulement par un effort endogène mais aussi par un choc exogène résultant de l'application du programme de mise à niveau des entreprises soutenu par des financements de l'Union européenne. En outre, l'amélioration des compétences des ressources humaines, l'utilisation des NTIC et la conformité aux critères de performance, expliquent de manière significative les différences de l'engagement dans l'activité d'innovation de produit. Quant aux déterminants traditionnels, dépenses de R&D et taille de la firme, ils ne constituent pas dans le cas présent des facteurs influençant significativement la capacité d'innovation.
