Fehlzeitenreport 2018. Krankheits- und unfallbedingte Fehlzeiten in Österreich – Präsentismus und Absentismus

Abstract

Der Fehlzeitenreport gibt eine Übersicht über Entwicklung und Verteilung der gesundheitsbedingten Fehlzeiten in Österreich. 2017 waren die Krankenstände gegenüber dem Vorjahr nahezu unverändert, die Beschäftigten verbrachten im Jahresverlauf durchschnittlich 12,5 Kalendertage im Krankenstand. Das entspricht einem Verlust an Jahresarbeitszeit von 3,4%. Der Fehlzeitenreport 2018 behandelt in einem Schwerpunktkapitel das Thema "Präsentismus und Absentismus". Den verfügbaren Daten zufolge ist etwa die Hälfte der österreichischen Beschäftigten im Jahresverlauf mindestens einmal trotz Krankheitssymptomen am Arbeitsplatz. Absentismus, d. h. das Vortäuschen eines Krankenstandes, betrifft einen kleineren Beschäftigtenkreis und ist weniger gut erforscht als Präsentismus, aber ebenfalls ein relevanter Bestandteil der Arbeitswelt. Sowohl Präsentismus als auch Absentismus verursachen Kosten und können kurz- und längerfristige Schäden für die Wirtschaft und die Gesellschaft zur Folge haben.
