Regionale Konjunkturzyklen in Österreich

Abstract

Konjunkturzyklen werden meistens auf Ebene der Gesamtwirtschaft analysiert. Empirische Arbeiten mit Bezug zur regionalen Ebene finden sich dazu kaum. Die vorliegende Analyse anhand der regionalen vierteljährlichen Bruttowertschöpfungsdaten zeigt für die Bundesländer im Zeitraum 1996/2011 teils beträchtliche Unterschiede hinsichtlich Konjunkturmuster und Synchronisation mit dem Konjunkturverlauf in Österreich insgesamt. Dies gilt nicht nur für Amplitude und Dauer der zyklischen Schwankungen, sondern auch für die Entwicklung in den einzelnen Auf- bzw. Abschwungphasen. Der zyklische Gleichlauf der Konjunktur mit dem Österreich-Durchschnitt nahm über den untersuchten Zeitraum in den meisten Regionen teils deutlich zu.
