Effet du commerce intracommunautaire sur l’emploi féminin dans l’espace UEMOA

Abstract

Cet article analyse l’effet du commerce intracommunautaire sur l’emploi féminin dans l’espace UEMOA. Prenant appui sur le modèle Logit fractionnaire, avec des données sur 285 entreprises, l’article montre que la participation au commerce intracommunautaire améliore le taux d’emploi féminin, et que ce taux augmente à mesure que la représenta-tion des femmes dans les hautes instances de décision de l’entreprise se renforce. Le taux d’emploi féminin s’accroît aussi au sein des entreprises dirigées par une femme, de même que dans les entreprises de type coopératif et dans celles qui évoluent dans la transforma-tion. Approfondir l’intégration dans l’UEMOA paraît donc être un levier important de développement de l’emploi des femmes. Promouvoir l’entreprise associative/coopérative et la représentativité des femmes dans les postes de décision des entreprises tend à amé-liorer aussi l’emploi féminin.
