Numerische Gleichgewichtsmodelle: Grundstruktur, Anwendungen und Erkenntnisgehalt

Abstract

Der Anspruch unseres Beitrags ist bescheiden. Wir wollen einen Überblick über numerische Gleichgewichtsmodelle geben. Die Literatur zu dieser Forschungsrichtung ist in den letzten Jahren derart umfangreich geworden, daß wir uns auf einige ausgewählte Aspekte beschränken müssen. Im nächsten Abschnitt findet sich zunächst ein kurzer Rückblick, der die Entwicklung numerischer Gleichgewichtsanalysen von ihren Anfängen bis heute wiedergibt. Der dritte Abschnitt enthält dann eine etwas genauere Beschreibung der Grundstruktur und der Anwendungsmöglichkeiten dieser Modelle. Dabei wird zwischen statischen, sequentiell dynamischen und vollständig dynamischen Ansätzen unterschieden. Im letzten Abschnitt schließlich soll nach dem Erkenntnisgehalt numerischer Gleichgewichtsanalysen gefragt werden. Welche neuen Einsichten eröffnen sie; was sind ihre Vorteile, was ihre Schwächen; lohnt sich der ganze Aufwand überhaupt? Unser Beitrag richtet sich an solche Leser, die mit diesen Ansätzen nicht vertraut sind; für die Experten bieten wir nichts Neues.
