Abstract

Green innovation (GI) is recognized as one of the main factors affecting financial growth, environmental sustainability quality of life. This study utilizes a bibliometric analysis based on 283 articles collected from the Web of Science (WoS) database to identify and define the GI concept. The VOSviewer, Citespace CitNetExplorer bibliometric software have been used to build the GI network. The findings indicate that the ‘Sustainability’ journal has the greatest number of studies on GI, followed by the Journal of Cleaner Production, Business Strategy and The Environment International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. The co-citation network of references revealed three clusters of ‘GI and performance’, ‘GI and environmental innovation’ ‘driver of GI’. Furthermore, this study found the temporal development of this field by reviewing the trend of studies in this field; and presenting a GI model for future studies based on articles with more citations. Moreover, this study demonstrates the past, present future importance of this particular topic and serves as a guide for researchers who are a beginner in GI’s research map.
