Internationale Unternehmenskooperationen im deutschen Maschinenbau: Eine empirische Analyse

Abstract

Unternehmen des Maschinenbaus sind sehr kooperationsaktiv und betrachten Kooperationen mit ausländischen Partnern als effektives Instrument ihrer Internationalisierungsstrategie. Dieses IfG-Arbeitspapier beinhaltet die ersten Ergebnisse einer empirischen Untersuchung über die Bedeutung und Ausgestaltung internationaler Kooperationen in diesem Wirtschaftsbereich. Gefragt wird nicht nur nach den konkreten Ausgestaltungsformen, den Zielsetzungen und den Institutionalisierungsgraden, sondern ebenso nach den Kooperationsbereichen und der Einschätzung des Erfolges. Dabei haben sich interessante Ergebnisse herausgestellt. So spielen Kooperationen mit internationalen Partnern tatsächlich eine sehr wichtige Rolle für die deutschen Unternehmen. Im Vordergrund stehen Vertriebspartnerschaften, von denen die meisten vertraglich abgesichert werden. Bemerkenswert ist, dass sich die Bedeutung von Unternehmenskooperationen als Element von Internationalisierungsstrategien in den einzelnen Regionen unterscheidet. Nicht alle Kooperationsziele werden erreicht und die Erfolgsquoten weisen deutliche Unterschiede auf. In den folgenden Ausführungen werden einerseits Erklärungen für diese stilisierten Fakten geliefert und andererseits bereits kurz ein Analysemodell für die geplante Untersuchung der Erfolgsfaktoren von internationalen Unternehmenskooperationen im deutschen Maschinenbau skizziert. Dieses Arbeitspapier entstammt dem IfG-Forschungscluster II: Unternehmenskooperationen.
