Abstract

En este documento se presenta evidencia empírica para entender los impactos de la migración en el mercado de trabajo en Colombia, a través de la estimación de un modelo probabilístico tipo Probit para el empleo y una regresión cuantílica incondicional para el efecto en los salarios con información del periodo 2016-2019. Para ambas estimaciones se emplea un modelo dif-en-dif con el fin de determinar el efecto de la migración. La principal conclusión del estudio señala evidencia de un efecto sobre la distribución de empleo y salarios que afectan a los grupos más vulnerables, con menor educación e informales, a través de un incremento de la competencia en el segmento de mano de obra no calificada. El efecto sobre los salarios es limitado, pero mucho más evidente en los cuartiles de ingresos más bajos de la distribución de ingresos, con una significativa caída en la calidad del empleo con incrementos en la informalidad.
