Egyetemről a munkaerőpiacra. Felsőoktatási ismeretségek hatása a munkaerőpiaci kilátásokra
[From university to working life - the effect peers in higher education have on labour-market outcomes]

Abstract

Tanulmányunkban azt vizsgáljuk, hogy a mesterképzésben egy időben tanuló szaktársak milyen hatást gyakorolnak egymás későbbi munkaerőpiaci kilátásaira a végzettség megszerzését követő néhány évben. Az elemzést olyan összekötött államigazgatási adatokon végeztük, amelyek a 2003 és 2017 közötti időszakra tartalmazzák a magyarországi népesség 50 százalékának munkaerőpiaci és oktatási adatait. Becsléseink a 2010 és 2017 között mesterszakon végzett hallgatókat célozzák a korai munkakeresés és munkavállalás időszakában. A szaktársi ismeretségek hatását a közös egyetemi szakon egy félévben kezdő és ugyanazon félévben végző hallgatók munkahelyi találkozásával közelítjük. Eredményeink szerint a friss diplomások kimutathatóan nagyobb valószínűséggel nyernek felvételt olyan munkahelyekre, ahol egykori szaktársaik dolgoznak. Ez a hatás meglehetősen stabil, tehát azt elsősorban nem egyetemi szak- vagy általános értelemben vett szakspecifikus mechanizmusok vezérlik. Noha teljesen biztosak nem lehetünk a szaktársak segítő közreműködésében (legyen szó akár információátadásról, akár ajánlásról), alternatív becsléseink valószínűsítik ezt. Az egykori szaktársak vállalati jelenléte az újabban keletkezett munkaviszonyok jobb relatív minőségi jellemzőivel is párosul: magasabb kezdő bérrel, presztítízzsel és státussal, tartósabb munkaviszonnyal.* Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: J24, J30, J62, J64, M51, Z13.
