Re-thinking the role of talent management in a firm’s performance: Talent management practices and absorptive capacity

Abstract

This work aims to provide an overview of new perspectives of talent management research linked to investigation of the relationship between talent management (TM) practices, absorptive capacity (AC), and a firm's performance. We review the current theories in TM and provide the understanding of AC through TM lens. We discuss emerging market context as a setting for our study whereas Brazilian, Russian, Indian and Chinese firms will be analyzed to provide the link between TM and AC.
