Abstract

This review presents an analytical framework to discuss the existence and forms of gender discrimination in health. We survey the evidence of gender discrimination in health at the various life stages of an individual. We discuss the underlying drivers of this discrimination and its relationship with economic growth and development. Lastly, the review outlines the welfare implications of gender discrimination in health and offers policy insights.
