Abstract

Die Studie untersucht den Einfluss sozialpolitischer Maßnahmen im Bereich der Verteilungspolitik, Familien- und Care-Politik, Bildungs- und Arbeitsmarktpolitik auf das Wirtschaftswachstum und die Beschäftigung. Internationale Beispiele zeigen, dass ein hohes Maß an Sozialleistungen nicht mit einer geringen Wirtschaftsleistung einer Volkswirtschaft in Verbindung steht. Sozialpolitik kann über verschiedene Transmissionsmechanismen die Produktivkraft einer Volkswirtschaft erhöhen. Sie kommt nicht nur durch soziale Transfers zum Tragen, sondern auch durch das Steuer- und Abgabensystem, die staatliche Bereitstellung und/oder Förderung sozialer Infrastruktur und andere gesetzliche Regelungen im Bereich des Arbeitsmarktes bzw. der Familienpolitik. Eine reine Fokussierung auf Transferpolitik wäre zu kurz gegriffen.
