Abstract

[eng] We analyze the effects of measures taken in favour of youth on the duration oftheir stay in the firm and on their professionnal trajectories at the end of their employment spell. We estimate models of job employment and of job search, in order to test the effectiveness of Youth training schemes relative to usual employment contracts. Econometric results show that, for given experience and level of qualification, the young people hired through these schemes have a higher probability to stay within the firm than those hired through a contract with determined duration. On the other hand, young people passed through this scheme and looking for a job will search for longer than those having experienced a not subsidized job.
