Did the climb on the Greek sovereign spreads cause the devaluation of euro?

Abstract

Despite the minimal size of the Greek economy within eurozone, our Error-Correction Model (ECM) identified that the deterioration in the public finances of the Greek government caused the euro depreciation over the last weeks of 2009 and first weeks of 2010.
