Wissenstransfer in Innovationskooperationen: Ergebnisse einer Literaturstudie zur "Absorptive Capacity"

    Mit der Zunahme der Wissensintensität in der Wertschöpfung gewinnen auch die Entstehung, der Transfer und die Kombination von Wissen sowie der Zusammenhang zwischen Wissen und Innovationen eine steigende Bedeutung. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden die Innovationsstrategien der Unternehmen zu einer wichtigen Determinante ihrer Wettbe-werbsfähigkeit. Eine grundlegende Entscheidung kann darin bestehen, sich auf interne Innovationsquellen zu konzentrieren, also eine hierarchi-sche Organisation von F&E- und anderen Prozessen zu wählen. Doch aktuell kommt es häufig zu Innovationskooperationen, denen eine Strategie der Open Innovation zugrunde liegt. Unterschiedliche Gruppen von Kooperationspartnern kommen zum Zuge: Lieferanten, Kunden, konkurrierende Unternehmen, Forschungseinrichtungen etc. Doch wie bei anderen Kooperationen auch kommt es neben der Wahl geeigneter Partner und der richtigen Ausgestaltung darauf an, ein adäquates Management der Kooperation zu institutionalisieren, um die Kooperationsziele zu erreichen. Eine wesentliche Aufgabe des Managements von Innovationskooperationen besteht darin, sich um die Absorp-tionsfähigkeit des Unternehmens zu kümmern, denn diese ist entschei-dend dafür, ob externes Wissen genutzt und in der Kombination mit dem internen Wissen tatsächlich Innovationen hervorbringen kann. Martin Effelsberg analysiert in diesem IfG-Arbeitspapier im Rahmen einer Literaturstudie die verfügbaren Erkenntnisse zur Absorptionsfähigkeit, die einen wichtigen Erfolgsfaktor für Innovationskooperationen darstellt: Wie kann sie identifiziert, wie kann sie operationalisiert, wie kann sie aufgebaut werden und einige weitere Fragen. Dieses Arbeitspapier ist ein Element zur Vorbereitung einer empirischen Untersuchung von Innovationskooperationen in einzelnen Branchen. Es entstammt dem IfG-Forschungscluster II: Unternehmenskooperationen.
