Abstract

La production de bananes dans les Antilles est de manière croissante interpellée (insularité, protection de la biodiversité, ressources en eau, multifonctionnalité de l'agriculture, crise du chlordécone) dans sa capacité à réduire l'utilisation de produits phytopharmaceutiques. En fonction de cet objectif, des initiatives collectives mobilisant la recherche agronomique, les professionnels, les pouvoirs publics orientent les innovations techniques, organisationnelles et institutionnelles vers un changement de paradigme technologique conduisant à une intensification écologique de la production. Pourtant cette communication souligne que les indicateurs mobilisables sur l'évolution des quantités de pesticides/ha soulèvent des résultats contradictoires selon les périodes, les territoires. Les déterminants potentiels de cette contradiction sont discutés.
