Abstract

Every country now has a climate plan. This report asks what those plans add up to. It translates the national commitments of 128 countries, their Nationally Determined Contributions, long-term strategies and national energy and climate plans, into inputs for four linked models of land use, energy, water and the economy, and simulates them to 2050 against a common baseline in which no new commitments are implemented. The models, data and results are freely available on the GCH online platform, so that any country can explore their pathways, reproduce the analysis and ultimately use it in its own planning.
