Abstract

O campo acadêmico das Ciências Sociais, no Brasil, foi institucionalizado por meio da criação, da expansão e da consolidação dos centros de pós-graduação destas ciências no país, principalmente, a partir dos anos sessenta. Estes centros de produção do conhecimento produziram, ao longo do tempo, os produtores e os produtos vinculados a vários temas, como os estudos sobre o “rural” brasileiro. A existência de um conjunto de pesquisadores e da produção destas pesquisas confirma o interesse dos mesmos, bem como de instituições de financiamento destas investigações, na construção de um espaço de reflexão sobre o “rural”, num sentido amplo, e de temas específicos, como os conflitos sociais no campo no Brasil. O objeto de estudo deste artigo foi a constituição do espaço de produção do conhecimento a respeito do “rural” realizada no campo acadêmico das Ciências Sociais.
