Stand des Strukturwandels in der ökologischen Landwirtschaft

Abstract

[Einleitung ...] Aufgrund dieser Entwicklungen, wird nachfolgend untersucht, ob Ökobetriebe ebenfalls einem ähnlichen Muster des Strukturwandel ausgesetzt sind wie konventionelle Betriebe oder ob der Biomarkt als Nischenmarkt immer noch eine gewisse Eigendynamik aufweist und Betriebe den typischen ökonomischen Anreizen nicht im gleichem Maße folgen (müssen) wie dies bei konventionellen Betrieben zu beobachten ist. In diesem Beitrag wird daher untersucht, wie sich Ökobetriebe in Deutschland im Detail entwickelt haben und ob Parallelen zum Strukturwandel der konventionellen Landwirtschaft zu erkennen sind. Dazu werden zunächst verschiedene konkurrierende Theorien des Strukturwandels in der (konventionellen) Landwirtschaft vorgestellt und mit der Entwicklung der ökologischen Landwirtschaft verbunden. Das Ziel des Beitrages ist es, eine Einschätzung zu geben, ob die Diskussion über die Entwicklung von ökologischen Betrieben ebenfalls unter dem Titel „Wachsen oder Weichen“ geführt werden müsste, da ökologisch wirtschaftende Landwirte durch die die Entwicklungen auf dem Ökomarkt genötigt werden sich konventionellen Betriebsstrukturen anzupassen, um weiterhin wirtschaftlich erfolgreich am Markt bestehen zu können. Der Beitrag gliedert sich wie folgt: in Kapitel 2 werden Theorien zum Strukturwandel in der Landwirtschaft vorgestellt und mit Hinblick auf die Entwicklung des ökologischen Landbaus diskutiert. Nachdem im Kapitel 3 die Datengrundlage vorgestellt wurde, erfolgt im anschließenden Kapitel 4 die Analyse der Betriebsstrukturen sowie der Einkommenssituation. In Kapitel 5 werden die Ergebnisse zusammenfassend dargestellt. Das letzte Kapitel gibt einen Ausblick auf weitere Forschungsfragen.
