Abstract

Bei vielen Arbeitsmarktanalysen stehen kurz- und mittelfristige Fragestellungen im Mittelpunkt, während längerfristige Phänomene aus dem Blickfeld geraten. Die vorliegende Studie beleuchtet die Struktur und Dynamik von Arbeitslosigkeit, atypischer Beschäftigung und Niedriglohnbeschäftigung in einer Langfristperspektive von bis zu zwölf Jahren. Sie zeigt erstens auf, wie sich die Betroffenheit von diesen Arbeitsmarktpositionen auf die erwerbsfähige Bevölkerung verteilt, und identifiziert besonders stark betroffene Risikogruppen. Zweitens rückt sie die heterogenen Erwerbsverläufe der Individuen in den Fokus und macht durch längere Phasen der Arbeitslosigkeit und der Niedriglohnbeschäftigung geprägte Erwerbsmuster sichtbar, die einer kontinuierlichen Erwerbsintegration im Rahmen einer vergleichsweise hoch entlohnten Vollzeitbeschäftigung gegenüberstehen. Drittens zeigt sie anhand einzelner Arbeitsmarktübergänge, wie typische Wege in und aus Arbeitslosigkeit, Niedriglohnbeschäftigung und atypischer Beschäftigung aussehen und welche persönlichen Merkmale Persistenz, Aufwärts- und Abwärtsbewegungen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt beeinflussen.
