Wissensproduktion und Wissensverwertung in Österreich im internationalen Vergleich

Abstract

Österreich hat die monetären Ressourcen für die Wissensproduktion und -verwertung in den letzten Jahrzehnten auf ein Niveau über jenem der führenden Innovationsländer der EU gesteigert. Leistungsindikatoren etwa für Publikationen, Patente und innovationsintensive Start-ups weisen aber noch auf deutliche Aufholpotentiale hin, insbesondere im Vergleich mit weltweit führenden Ländern. Bestehenden exzellenten Forschungseinrichtungen oder innovationsintensiven Unternehmen fehlt es (noch) an Größe, um in der Gesamtleistung Österreichs sichtbar zu werden.
