Determinantes de la eficiencia técnica en las empresas colombianas, 2001-2004

El objetivo del artículo es estimar los determinantes de la eficiencia técnica para una muestra de 1.971 empresas en Colombia, en el período 2001-2004. La metodología se divide en dos etapas, en la primera se estima, por sector, un índice de eficiencia técnica utilizando un modelo de frontera estocástica. En la segunda etapa, se ajusta un modelo económico sobre los determinantes de la eficiencia técnica, utilizando cinco diferentes especificaciones econométricas; Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO), Modelo Tobit (MT), Regresión Robusta (RR), Regresión Cuartilica (RC) y un Estimador de las Desviaciones Absolutas Censuradas (EDAC). El principal resultado de la investigación establece que las variables: gasto en investigación y desarrollo, tamaño de activos y rentabilidad son las principales determinantes de la variación del índice de eficiencia técnica.
