Abstract

Dieser Literaturüberblick beschreibt den aktuellen Wissensstand zum Thema "lange Arbeitszeiten". Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt auf den gesundheitlichen Folgeerscheinungen von Überstunden und langen Arbeitszeiten. Aber auch weitere Auswirkungen der Arbeitsdauer, wie jene auf die Vereinbarkeit von Beruf und Privatleben, werden angesprochen. Abschließend werden lange Arbeitszeiten in eine ökonomische Betrachtung eingebettet und mögliche Schritte zur Bestimmung der wirtschaftlichen Kosten von langen Arbeitszeiten skizziert.
