Demographischer Wandel und regionale Produktivitätsentwicklung in Österreich

Abstract

Die Produktivitätsentwicklung einer Volkswirtschaft hängt eng mit Erfahrung, Ausbildung und Gesundheit und somit mit dem Alter der Arbeitskräfte zusammen. Auch in Österreich gewinnt der demographische Wandel an Bedeutung; er verläuft regional unterschiedlich. Die Untersuchung für die österreichischen Bundesländer und die 35 NUTS-3-Regionen zeigt einen umgekehrt U-förmigen Zusammenhang zwischen der Altersstruktur der Bevölkerung und der Produktivitätsveränderung. Die Produktivitätsspitze liegt demnach im Haupterwerbsalter.
