Online digital Radion apps usages in Israel: Consumers, consumption and meaning

Abstract

•In Israel, most radio stations operate websites that stream live online broadcasts and offer consumers various types and levels of internet applications.•This study examined the gaps between various population groups in terms of the extent and variety of online radio services they use. To this end, an internet survey was conducted among a representative sample of 512 people from the Jewish population in Israel.•The findings of the research indicate low use of interactive radio tools and differences between population groups: residents of the periphery and the religious population use these tools more than residents of the center and the secular population.
