Die Treuhandanstalt: Eine empirische Bestandsaufnahme 30 Jahre nach der Deutschen Wiedervereinigung

Abstract

Auch 30 Jahre nach der Wiedervereinigung bleibt die Verwaltung und Privatisierung der ehemaligen DDR-Staatsunternehmen durch die Treuhandanstalt umstritten. Dieser Beitrag liefert erstmals eine ausführliche empirische Bestandsaufnahme des Privatisierungsprozesses und seiner wirtschaftlichen Folgen für die betroffenen Unternehmen. Die Autoren zeigen, dass die Treuhandanstalt produktivere Unternehmen zwar mit höherer Wahrscheinlichkeit privatisierte, diese aber auch öfter an westdeutsche Investoren verkaufte.
