Abstract

Working paper discussing trade liberalization trade policies capable of promoting the integration of developing countries into the international economic system - comments on shortcomings of economic development associated with import substitution; examines the need to combine trade liberalization with fiscal policy and monetary policy measures; considers implications of protectionism and slow economic growth in developed countries for the expansion of exports of developing countries. Bibliography, statistical tables.
