Breve Tuturial para visualizar y Calcular Métricas de Redes (grafos) en R (para Económisas)

Abstract

Hasta hace relativamente poco tiempo, solamente un pequeno grupo de economistas empleaba la teoría de las redes sociales como herramientas para abordar fenómenos económicos, para los cuales, la teoría tradicional no ofrecía una buena explicación. Esto ha cambiado de manera progresiva, sobre todo, después de algunos trabajos en el área de sociología, y posteriormente en el área de la economía, que tuvieron un gran impacto. Por ejemplo, Granovetter (1985) presenta una reflexión teórica sobre la actividad económica y la estructura social, y muestra que algunos patrones observados en el mercado, aparentemente inexplicables, pueden ser fácilmente caracterizados y explicados a través de la teoría de las redes sociales. Desde Granovetter (1985) y otros documentos influyentes (como por ejemplo: Granovetter (1978), Hendricks, Piccione y Tan (1999) y Travers y Milgram (1977)), la teoría de grafos se ha aplicado a problemas económicos muy diversos, desde la búsqueda de empleo (Calvo-Armengol y Jackson, 2004), la teoría de juegos (Avrachenkov, Kondratev y Mazalov, 2017) y el comercio internacional (De Benedictis, Nenci, Santoni, Tajoli y Vicarelli, 2014) hasta las revoluciones científicas (Salazar y Otero, 2015).
