Contracciones leves y profundas: Efectos asimétricos sobre la pobreza. El caso colombiano 1984-2000

Este documento describe los canales a través de los cuales contracciones profundas en el producto pueden tener efectos persistentes sobre la pobreza. Utilizando un modelo de Vectores Auto Regresivos se muestra evidencia de este mecanismo en Colombia y adicionalmente se exponen las razones por las cuales se generan tales asimetrías. Los resultados obtenidos y la revisión de experiencias en otros países, sugieren la inclusión de este tipo de efectos en el diseño de política económica.
