Ampliando o Conceito de Rastreabilidade: Em Busca de Sustentabilidade nas Cadeias Produtivas

Abstract

Atualmente, já se fala em rastreabilidade e certificação como alternativas para que as cadeias produtivas atendam as exigências de segurança do alimento, colocadas pelo mercado e pelo consumidor. Ao praticarem a rastreabilidade, as empresas conseguem controlar os diversos elos da cadeia produtiva, para que o produto final chegue ao consumidor de forma segura. Do ponto de vista do consumidor, este se sente mais seguro, pois tem a certeza de que terá um alimento com garantia de sanidade e de qualidade. Do ponto de vista das empresas, estas mantêm sua lucratividade e passam a ter um controle mais rigoroso de todo o processo ao longo da cadeia produtiva. Analisando a lógica que está por trás da aplicação da rastreabilidade, atualmente, percebe-se que o foco está no aumento de competitividade. Na verdade, se os atores de uma cadeia produtiva não entenderem que precisam se ajustar a estas regras, eles estão fadados a perder mercado. Ou seja, os atores cooperam para que possam se manter competitivos no mercado. Porém, diante de todos os problemas que se verificam atualmente, do ponto de vista social e ambiental, será que a rastreabilidade deveria permanecer restrita a uma estratégia empresarial de aumento de competitividade? Será que este conceito não deveria ser ampliado de forma a considerar estes problemas? Diante destas questões, este artigo objetiva ampliar a compreensão do conceito de rastreabilidade, a partir da constatação de que esta prática pode e deve ampliar a responsabilidade das empresas quando se pensa em cadeias produtivas orientadas para a sustentabilidade. Assim, o artigo estrutura-se a partir da discussão de alguns conceitos sobre cooperação e a coopetição em cadeias produtivas, estratégias orientadas para a sustentabilidade e rastreabilidade. Por fim, são apresentadas algumas relações entre estes conceitos e proposições, além das considerações finais, apontando para oportunidades de futuras pesquisas.
