Hat Wissensmanagement eine Zukunft? Stand der Dinge und Ausblick

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nach einer Hochphase um die Jahrtausendwende hat das Thema Wissensmanagement in Wissenschaft und Praxis an Bedeutung verloren. In Anbetracht des Potentials, das insbesondere die strategische Managementforschung dem Faktor Wissen beimisst, muss die Entwicklung verwundern. Wir hinterfragen, inwieweit (a) der Wissensbegrif und die Konzeptionalisierung von Wissensmanagement dem Erkenntnisfortschritt und der praktischen Umsetzung im Wege stehen, (b) welche Implikationen aus der Wahl einer technologie- oder akteurorientierten Sichtweise folgen, und (c) inwieweit Versuche der Quantifzierung von Nutzen und Kosten von Wissensmanagement notwendig sind und fruchtbar sein können. Wir argumentieren, dass das Wissensmanagement nicht als eigenstôndige Forschungsdisziplin und isolierter Funktionsbereich etabliert werden sollte: Vielmehr sollte es um eine Einbindung wissensorientierter sichtweisen und Erkenntnisse in bestehende Funktionsbereiche (wie in den des Personalmanagements) gehen.
