Abstract

Der Arbeitsmarkt in Deutschland steht vor großen Herausforderungen. Die Bekämpfung der Arbeitslosigkeit, zumal der Langzeitarbeitslosigkeit, ist nach wie vor eines der drängendsten Probleme. Eine neue Herausforderung besteht darin, die Qualität der Beschäftigungsverhältnisse insgesamt zu verbessern, ohne den Zugang zum Arbeitsmarkt zu gefährden. Schließlich wird es künftig vermehrt darum gehen, den Arbeitsmarkt für den demografischen Wandel fit zu machen. Das Ziel der Fachkräftesicherung rückt hier noch stärker in den Blick. Für alle drei Handlungsfelder gibt es unterschiedliche Reformoptionen, mit denen Vor- und Nachteile einhergehen. In dem IAB-Forum Spezial bilanzieren die Autoren die Lage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt, skizzieren die Herausforderungen und diskutieren mögliche Reformansätze. (IAB)
