Cambio estructural en la región centro de México: 2003 y 2018

Abstract

Objetivo: Este artículo analiza el cambio estructural de la región centro de México durante el periodo 2003–2018, con el propósito de evaluar la evolución de su integración productiva, la especialización sectorial y la complejidad de su estructura económica. Método: Para ello, se emplean matrices de insumo–producto regionalizadas mediante el enfoque FLQ de Flegg et al., agregadas a 28 ramas productivas, complementadas con los índices de Rasmussen y herramientas de análisis de redes. Resultados: Los resultados evidencian una intensificación del proceso de terciarización, una reducción relativa del número de sectores clave y un aumento en la proporción de relaciones intersectoriales débiles. En términos generales, la región centro reproduce las principales tendencias estructurales observadas a nivel nacional, aunque conserva rasgos específicos asociados a su estructura productiva y a ciertas ventajas comparativas locales. Limitaciones: No obstante, el análisis se encuentra condicionado por el uso de métodos de regionalización no survey y por el nivel de agregación sectorial, lo que limita la identificación de encadenamientos más específicos. Principales hallazgos: En conjunto, los hallazgos sugieren que el cambio estructural de la región ha sido limitado en términos de integración y complejidad productiva, lo que plantea importantes desafíos para el diseño de políticas regionales orientadas a fortalecer los encadenamientos internos.
