Contabilidad insumo-producto y un análisis comparativo-estructural de la economía mexicana

Abstract

Este trabajo ofrece un análisis comparativo estructural de la economía mexicana con respecto a otras economías del mundo, a fin de extraer resultados útiles para la toma de decisiones tanto en el sector público como en el privado y, en particular, para informar el diseño de nueva política industrial para el mejor desarrollo y evolución de la producción de bienes y servicios en México. Se encuentra que, en todas las economías consideradas, los dos principales sectores clave son “Industrias químicas” y “Metálicas básicas”. Para las economías europeas el tercer sector más importante es el “Suministro de electricidad, gas y agua”, mientras que para economías latinoamericanas, el tercer sector más importante es el “Carbón, productos de petróleo y combustible nuclear”. Y para las 11 economías bajo estudio, los más importantes sectores impulsores son “Automotores y remolques” y “Carbón, productos de petróleo y combustible nuclear”. En el análisis de los efectos de dispersión encontramos como resultado más notable que el sector “Intermediación financiera” en México dista drásticamente de ofrecer la amplitud de servicios que en todos los demás países presta a los sectores productivos.
