Determinanten einer potenziellen Anbaubereitschaft von transgenen Kulturen: Untersuchungsregion im Kanton Zürich

Abstract

Sollte nach Ablauf des Gentech-Moratoriums der Anbau transgener Pflanzen in der Schweiz zugelassen werden, ist von Interesse, welche Bedeutung diese neue Technologie erreichen wird. Die Landwirte werden eine Entscheidung für oder gegen eine zukünftige Nutzung treffen müssen. Die Entscheidung wird dabei durch unterschiedliche Faktoren beeinflusst. Um die Anbaubereitschaft und deren Determinanten zu identifizieren, wurde in der Schweiz eine Untersuchungsregion ausgewählt, in der Landwirte zu ihrer Anbaubereitschaft und zu ihren Einstellungen gegenüber transgenen Kulturen befragt wurden. Mittels logistischer Regression werden die Entscheidungsfaktoren hinsichtlich der Anbaubereitschaft transgener Kulturen untersucht. Ein Drittel der Befragten gab an, eine Nutzung derartiger Kulturen in Erwägung zu ziehen, wenn diese zugelassen werden würden. Als statistisch signifikante Einflussgrössen können der vermutete Umweltschaden durch transgene Kulturen, der erwartete veränderte Arbeitsaufwand auf dem Feld, die Einschätzung der Einstellung des Nachbarn gegenüber transgenen Kulturen, die Bewirtschaftung in Form eines Haupterwerbsbetriebs sowie die Höhe des steuerbaren Gesamteinkommens identifiziert werden.
