Die Brexit-Verhandlungen – Inhalt und Konsequenzen für das Vereinigte Königreich und die EU

Abstract

Im Rahmen des Ökonomenpanels von ifo und FAZ im Februar 2017 wurden Professoren für Volkswirtschaftslehre an deutschen Universitäten zu ihren Erwartungen für die anstehenden Brexit-Verhandlungen sowie im Hinblick auf die zukünftige Handelspolitik der EU und dem Vereinigten Königreich befragt. Die befragten Teilnehmer sind mehrheitlich der Ansicht, dass die EU in Zukunft vornehmlich im Rahmen eines bilateralen Vertrags mit dem Vereinigten Königreich zusammenarbeiten wird, würden sich allerdings eher eine Mitgliedschaft des Landes im Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum als zukünftiges Modell wünschen. Zugleich erwarten die Ökonomen mehrheitlich, dass sich die Handelspolitik der EU in Zukunft protektionistischer entwickeln wird.
