La Percepción del Estado de Salud: Una Mirada a las Regiones desde la Encuesta de Calidad de Vida 2003

Abstract

En este documento se estudia el impacto de un conjunto de variables sobre la percepción del estado de salud de los individuos en las regiones que establece la Encuesta Nacional de Calidad de Vida (ECV) realizada por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadísticas, DANE, en el ano 2003. Las variables denotan características socioeconómicas y demográficas de las personas, características institucionales del sistema de salud y características del hogar. El ejercicio econométrico se basa en el uso de modelos Probit Ordenados para la determinación de tal impacto. El análisis por regiones sirvió para probar que existen elementos locales o regionales que hacen que el impacto de los factores que inciden en las condiciones de salud de los individuos difiera de una región a otra.
