Analisis del uso de servicios financieros por parte de las empresas en Mexico. Que nos dice el Censo Economico 2009

Abstract

Investigamos la tasa de adopcion de las tarjetas de pago considerando el conocimiento de consumidores y comerciantes acerca de las externalidades de red, usando dos niveles de cuotas de intercambio (interchange fees) en un mercado de tarjetas de multi-agente. A efectos de nuestro estudio, en diversas instancias (escenarios) del modelo se analizan los efectos investigados durante todo el proceso de adopcion, hasta alcanzarse el punto de saturacion del mercado. A continuacion, en cada escenario se comparan dos niveles diferentes de cuotas de intercambio y un grado diferente de conocimiento de consumidores y comerciantes. Para ello, hemos modelado explicitamente las interacciones entre consumidores y comerciantes en el punto de venta. En el modelo, los emisores de tarjetas pueden cobrar a los consumidores comisiones fijas y ofrecer beneficios netos por el uso de las tarjetas, mientras que los adquirientes pueden cobrar tasas fijas y por transaccion a los comercios. Las cuotas de intercambio fluyen de los adquirientes hacia los emisores. No obstante, reconocemos que el punto de saturacion del mercado no solamente esta determinado por las externalidades de la red y por el nivel de las cuotas de intercambio, sino tambien por factores macroeconomicos que no se analizan en esta fase de la investigacion.
