La inserción de la mujer en el mercado laboral por especialidad de formación profesional en México

Abstract

En los últimos años la participación de las mujeres en el mercado laboral ha sido favorable, sin embargo todavía existen diferencias respecto al trabajo de los hombres, además, de las preferencias de formarse en determinadas titulaciones. En este documento se presentan los resultados de analizar por área de formación profesional, las diferencias en la inserción en el mercado laboral en México y los ingresos que se perciben de las mujeres profesionistas con relación a los hombres. Se destaca, que la actividad laboral de las mujeres depende fundamentalmente del ingreso global de la familia, no percibiéndose su actividad laboral como obligatoria, este resultado es independiente del estatus económico o del nivel de educación, salvo en los casos en que la mujer es jefe de familia. El análisis se aplica sobre los datos de la información de la Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo (ENOE 2006), con el modelo de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO) propuesto por Mincer para estimar el ingreso, el Modelo de Máxima Verosimilitud (MV) conjuntamente con el modelo Probit para estimar los ingresos de los profesionistas y la probabilidad de estar trabajando. Los principales resultados reflejan que de los profesionistas en México el 45,87 por ciento son mujeres, la participación en el mercado laboral de las mujeres por áreas de formación son principalmente: Humanidades, educación y ciencias de la salud, para los hombres las áreas relacionadas a las ciencias agropecuarias, ingeniería y arquitectura. La tasa de desempleo en promedio para las mujeres con estudios profesionales es de 4,23 por ciento y para los hombres de 3,12 por ciento, los ingresos son aproximadamente el 29,00 por ciento mayor para los hombres.
