Una explicación a la curva de salarios

Abstract

La teoría de salarios de eficiencia suele usarse para explicar, tanto la curva de salarios, como el desempleo involuntario. Sin embargo, estas explicaciones usualmente son contradictorias. Por una parte, se afirma que el desempleo se debe a altos salarios, por otra, se argumenta que el incremento en el desempleo reduce los salarios. En este artículo se propone un modelo de salarios de eficiencia en un marco de equilibrio restringido por demanda, con la finalidad de hacer compatibles las explicaciones del desempleo y de la curva de salarios. The wage curve and involuntary unemployment can usually be explained by the efficiency wage theory. However, the explanations are contradictory. In efficiency wage theory, unemployment is caused by high wage; however, for the wage curve, the low wage is due to high unemployment. In this paper, we present an efficiency wage model with equilibrium restricted by demand. Our model shows that the explications of unemployment and wage curve are indeed congruent.
