Participación laboral de las mujeres en México: preferencias y limitaciones

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar los factores relacionados con la participación laboral de las mujeres en México, identificando que la probabilidad de que estas trabajen aumenta con el uso de anticonceptivos, ser solteras, tener mayor nivel educativo y acceso a guarderías. Las decisiones reproductivas y de educación son relevantes para la decisión de las mujeres de participar en el mercado laboral, pues los roles de género limitan su participación si, por ejemplo, el jefe de familia es hombre o si la mujer desea tener más hijos. El acceso a guarderías es resultado de que las mujeres trabajadoras tengan entrada directa al Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS).
