The Relationship Between Primary Energy Consumption and Financial Development in Developing Countries That Were Dependent on Energy in Context of Global Development

Abstract

In this study, it has been aimed to put forward the relati¬onship between primary energy consumption and financial de¬velopment for the period 1985-2015 of Argentina, China, South Korea, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico and Turkey. It has been conclu¬ded that, there is a long-term relationship between primary energy consumption and the ratio of assets of deposit banks to GDP in the study. Furthermore, it has been determined that there is a one-way causality relationship from the primary energy consumption to the ratio of deposit bank assets to GDP and the ratio of the local credit provided to the private sector to GDP.
