Zur Evaluation wissenschaftlicher Publikationsleistungen in der Sportwissenschaft

Abstract

Forschungsrankings beruhen teilweise auf bibliometrischen Daten. Die dabei zur Bewertung der Publikationsbeiträge herangezogenen Indikatoren führen häufig zu Diskussionen. Der Beitrag untersucht Probleme und Folgen der Erfassung von Publikationsleistungen in der Sportwissenschaft. Nach einer Charakterisierung des Wissenschaftsmarktes und der Genese des aktuellen CHE-Rankings in der Sportwissenschaft werden auf empirischer Basis die Wirkung veränderter Transformationsregeln bei der Bewertung von Publikationsleistungen, mögliche Skaleneffekte in der Publikationstätigkeit, der Einfluss der Publikationsform auf die Rankingplatzierung, der Zusammenhang des Alters mit den präferierten Publikationsformen und der Alterseinfluss auf den Publikationsoutput untersucht. Deutlich wird u.a., dass die vom Publikationsranking ausgehenden Effekte insbesondere bei jüngeren Wissenschaftlern ebenso risikoaverse wie rankingbeeinflusste Strategien bei der Wahl ihres Forschungsthemas oder ihrer Forschungsmethode begünstigen, in deren Folge es zu einer unerwünschten, innovationsfeindlichen Homogenisierungstendenz unter wettbewerblichen Bedingungen kommt.
