Vademecum der Evalualogie: Neue Arten im Biotop der Wissenschaft

Abstract

Robinsons Abenteuer im Biotop der Forschung gehen weiter. Während das PARK-Modell seinen Siegeszug fortsetzt, konstruieren die Repräsentanten der königlichen Wissenschaftsbürokratie sowie moralische Unternehmer zahlreiche sekundäre Wettbewerbe in der Form von Evaluationen und Rankings. Diese Wettbewerbe binden enorme Ressourcen, produzieren Mitnahmeeffekte und zwängen die Forscher in ein Hamsterrad, in das aber nur die Kleinen im Geiste passen. Robinson stellt grundsätzliche Überlegungen zu den Mechanismen des sekundären Wettbewerbs an und entwickelt ein kleines Modell, um die Implikationen des sekundären Wettbewerbs für die Wissenschaft zu skizzieren. Robinson durchschaut, dass Bürokraten Wasser predigen und Wein trinken, und stellt resigniert seine Forschung unter einen neuen Wahlspruch: "Lieber volle Becher statt leerer Worte."
