Abstract

L'Afrique fait depuis quelques mois les titres de la presse économique internationale : certains pays ont un fort taux de croissance, les Chinois y investissent massivement et certaines firmes multinationales occidentales envisagent de s'y développer. Sans envisager que les pays d'Afrique puissent rejoindre rapidement les "BRIC" (à part l'Afrique du Sud), la question d'un management adapté au contexte africain se pose à nouveau. Les considérations globales sur les particularités d'un "management africain" ne manquent pas mais elles ne permettent pas, à notre avis, de voir clair sur les réalités complexes observables aujourd'hui. En nous limitant à l'Afrique de l'Ouest francophone et à l'Afrique Centrale, nous voudrions dans cette communication, faire une rapide revue critique des modèles explicatifs de la gestion des entreprises en Afrique et esquisser un cadre d'analyse qui, d'après nous, permettrait de développer des recherches complémentaires plus fructueuses.
