Multifunctionality, trade distortion effects and agricultural income support : a conceptual framework with free entry and land price endogeneity

Abstract

Les auteurs proposent un cadre d'analyse permettant d'étudier les effets de long terme de divers instruments traditionnels de soutien des revenus (aides directes sans et avec obligation de produire, aide à l'hectare et aide au produit). Les indicateurs d'impact sont le revenu des agriculteurs, le nombre d'exploitations, le niveau d'intensification et les exportations. On se place à long terme dans la mesure où tous les facteurs de production sont variables ; il y a possibilité d'entrée dans l'activité et de sortie de celle-ci ; et le prix de la terre est endogénéisé de façon à rendre compte de la contrainte de terre disponible au niveau agrégé. Les résultats de statique comparative montrent qu'aucun instrument ne domine tous les autres pour les quatre indicateurs retenus.
