Divide to Conquer? Latent Preference Types and Country-level Heterogeneity

Abstract

Do country-level outcomes relate to latent preference measures obtained from a global sample of 80,000 individuals to construct a set of unique preference types. It then asked whether the prevalence of these types correlates with outcomes in the domains of income, entrepreneurship, conflict, democratization, and gender inequality.
